The Key of Authority

“And the key of the house of David I will lay upon his shoulder; he shall open and no one shall shut, he shall shut and no one shall open.  And I will fasten him like a peg or nail in a firm place; and he will become a throne of honor and glory to his father’s house.  And they will hang on him the honor and the whole weight of [responsibility for] his father’s house…”

The Key of Authority

For years, we have lamented the state of our nation without the aspiration to make a difference.  It would seem the key of authority has been missing, or at least in the hands of unfaithful stewards.  As a result, lethargy and unresponsiveness have taken over the sleeping giant [the body of Christ].  Instead of humbling ourselves before the Lord, we have exalted our hearts in pride by seeking out the spirit of Balaam (Numbers 22).  

Balaam was a prophet who had once spoken for the LORD.  However, with the passage of time and events, he had become embittered against his own people.  Balak (King of Moab) hired Balaam to curse the children of God for profit and for the sake of Moab.  After hardening his heart against God, Balaam agreed.  On the way to curse Israel, Balaam’s donkey cried out and stopped the prophet from encountering the angel of the Lord.  Nehemiah 13:2 AMP records, “For they (the Moabites) met not the Israelites with food and drink but hired Balaam to curse them; yet our God turned the curse into a blessing.”

Why America Is Blessed

The enemy has sought out our own prophets to curse this nation.  Don’t fear when you hear prophets saying ought against America.  Realize what God has blessed, no man can curse!  May this book be the donkey under the Balaams of our nation.  May the hearts of the forefathers live and burn again within us.  Our foundation, the founding documents, was laid by men who desired to create a haven for God-inspired freedom.  Within those founding documents, you will read how our fathers invoked the Name and virtues of the One, true God time and again.  Each time they did so, they invoked the blessing of the Lord upon our nation.   Mean-spirited and fearful Christians are quick to jump on the doomsday bandwagon and condemn America.  But as John 3:17 AMP says, “God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation…”  America is already reaping the fruit of her sin.  Our response should not be “I told you so,” rather to repent for our role while presenting the Remedy. 

A Shift Has Happened

The American Church is reaping the fruit of her sin, too.  The unjust steward of Isaiah 22 has been called into account, and a shift of authority has taken place.  A key has been placed on the shoulder of the faithful church.   With this key of stewardship, doors will open, others will be sealed.  Governmental authority to decree life and liberty has been given to those who will bend their knees in prayer and humility before the Lord on behalf of the insolent.  If you are waiting for everyone to join this movement, it won’t happen.  God never requires a unanimous vote, just a remnant of which you are a part! 

Just as the faithful steward of Isaiah 22 was fastened like a peg, so you will be with pages of this book.  As you read excerpts of America’s founding documents and their companion scriptures, a spirit of faith will kindle the fire within you, and subsequently in your town and circle of dominion.
